How computer vision strengthens a warehouse management system

A warehouse management system is the system of record for what should be where. It is excellent at transactions. It is blind to the rack until a person, a scanner, or a robot tells it something new.

Computer vision does not replace the WMS. It gives the WMS a witness. Each position the robot or Smart Pallet reads is matched to the record. If they agree, the twin shows green. If they do not, the exception shows up next to the photo of what is actually sitting there.

That changes a few jobs operators already know. Cycle counts stop depending on a weekend and a row of lifts. Damage is visible before the truck is loaded, because the inspection runs during the count. An audit, a claim, or a customer question can point at an image with a time on it, instead of at a spreadsheet cell.

Barcode scans and RFID still matter. They prove a handling event. Vision proves the state of the location between those events. Used together, the WMS stays in charge and the building becomes easier to believe.

The platform works with any WMS or ERP. We connect during deployment, usually inside the one to two months between contract and operation.
